Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician Program at Coyne College is designed to prepare individuals for employment as an entry-level pharmacy technician in a hospital, retail, community or other institutional pharmacy. Pharmacy Technicians are skilled health specialists who perform varied activities, including preparing and dispensing medications in accordance with standard procedures and laws under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Pharmacy Technicians also transcribe and process physician orders, maintain patient profiles and medication records electronically, and communicate effectively with patients and members of the health care team. Learn medical billing and collection, records management, medical insurance claims processing, and CPT and ICD9 Diagnostic codes.

Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician program at Coyne College in Chicago prepares students for practice as Pharmacy Technicians performing a wide variety of tasks in both retail and hospital pharmacies under the supervision of a pharmacist. Students develop skills in areas of pharmacy practice such as computer order entry, pharmaceutical calculations, record keeping, mixing intravenous solutions, and compounding of products to be dispensed. Special emphasis is on product knowledge and learning detailed information regarding drugs. Externship experience in retail or hospital pharmacies is included. The employment objective is entry-level Pharmacy Technician.

Physical Therapist Aide

As the health care field continues to grow, so does the need for qualified health care providers. The Physical Therapist Aide program offered through Coyne College will give you the comprehensive education you need to successfully assist physical therapists and their clients in a variety of therapy and rehabilitation settings.   Conveniently located in Chicago’s Loop, this Coyne College location offers training for its Allied Health programs including Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, and a clinical program called Medical Assistant. The Loop Campus training facility offers hands-on laboratories, a resource center, and comfortable classrooms. The training and equipment provided to the students are of the same type used in the industry today.
